A tradition starts with a history and fortunately, much of Triratna's history was captured on video.

It is still possible to realise the simplicity of Buddhism amongst the complexity of modern Buddhist literature. In fact, Sangharakshita says, it is possible to reduce Buddhism to two teachings and if we really get hold of these two teachings we will have got hold of Buddhism.
The first being that it is possible for human beings to change and the second that real radical change takes place when a human being gets rid of their delusions. He goes on to give a detailed explanation of what Buddhism calls the four Viparyasas, the four upside-down views. Overcome those and we will see things as they really are.
Sangharakshita gave this talk at the Berlin Buddhist Centre on 25 October 1999. It has live German translation.
