A tradition starts with a history and fortunately, much of Triratna's history was captured on video.

On 25 May 2008 Sangharakshita joined the week-long celebrations of the FWBO's 40th anniversary with a special talk.
He wanted to remind the sangha of some of the things the Buddha said with regard to the welfare of the spiritual community. Words of advice as relevant today as they were 2,500 years ago.
Reflecting on the recent handing on of the Olympic torch in China, Bhante considers the important Chinese text called 'The Transmission of the Lamp of the Dharma' and how the continuity and preservation of the FWBO/Triratna can be assured by following the Buddha's own advice. He speaks of gathering together repeatedly and in large numbers, of the importance of harmony, of the value of traditions, of respect for Elders, of safeguarding inspiration and of welcoming new people.
The talk has English subtitles.
